River Grille Restaurant and Cafe

We have ordered here several times! They have a widely varied menu, great when several people are ordering and can't agree on a restaurant. We love the bowl of clam chowder. Very thick with clam chunks, potatoes, onion, a spoon will nearly stand up in the bowl. Thick and rich, seasoned with generous amounts of thyme and pepper, piping hot and well packaged portions of everything are very generous. We love seafood and understandably these dishes are expensive but excellent from the haddock dinner the seafood combo shrimp, clams, scallops, haddock, cod appear hand breaded beautifully fried and wonderfully tasty, Portions are generous. The coleslaw is delectable, side salads and entree salads are available and very good. I find the rice pilaf has little flavor, a common failing in many restaurants, it is a dish that requires long slow cooking and a special hand in Seasonings. My husband ate it with some Sriracha Sauce. He loves the French fries. I did have a disappointing experience with the cheese quesodillas. The flour tortillas were crispy and flaky, but there was so little cheese it could scarcely be tasted. Most restaurants use corn tortillas and serve it with pico de Gallo and guacamole using a sharp cheddar, they serve with sour cream only. They could stand to improve this dish. With 3 Mexican restaurants on the street and on Grub Hub, if they want to serve a Mexican Appetizer, they have got to step up to the plate! The dessert menu is different and some items unique. 2 varieties of of flan are excellent. They have sandwiches, the Pastrami is good, and on a well-toasted sub roll, be cautious if you want to reheat a hot sub, although it arrived piping hot. The wrapping concealed an aluminum foil wrap, that I didn't see until, after reheating in the microwave. We will definitely order from them often, the food overall is excellent the selection wide and varied, portions generous. Price range is wide. A wide menu of hot and cold sandwiches and subs is available.

Ok so the first time i ordered from here i read the reviews and was cautiously optimistic and that night that food was excellent , on time hot considering it was below 0 out then i ordered my 2nd time tonight and everything was even better than last time would give 10 stars if i could they even called me when they had a question about my order and very polite defiantly my go to for my family and thank you for the early delivery !

The woman who works the cash register is easily one of the main reasons I'll be coming back here. She was so warm hearted and sweet! Plus she let me have a little sample of the desert! Which was amazing! I will be eating here probably once a week haha!

Always order from river grille!! Staff is super friendly and the food is always fresh and delicious, a gem in Hyde Park

It was delicious. The broccoli in my chicken broccoli ziti Alfredo could've been cooked though. It was uncooked.

Every time I come to Boston, I hit up my spot! They never disappoint!
